Eadweard Muybridge and Harold Edgerton
The Horse In Motion (Eadweard Muybridge)
Eadweard Muybridge is known as one of the fathers of modern animation, due to his collection of images that when put on a spinning wheel, would produce a short animation using said pictures, creating almost the first "gif". This was done by capturing images as a horse galloped across a racetrack, capturing the movement of the horse itself.
